English High School Teacher

Mrs. Virginia Beecher

Virginia Beecher has spent the last couple of decades teaching a variety of subjects in three communities in Iowa.  She has primarily taught language arts at the middle school level but has also taught talented and gifted classes, computers, and American history.  She also served as the library director of the public library in West Bend prior to teaching.  She has directed over fifty theatrical shows, musicals and plays, at the middle school, high school, and community theater level. She enjoys being involved in the community in which she is living through church or other civic organizations.  She loves to read, take care of her flowers, and spend time with friends and family.

Virginia is married to her high school sweetheart, Lindsey, a retired school superintendent. Together they have four children, Adam, Katie, Thomas and Julie.  They have two sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, and three wonderful grandchildren, Luke, Ben, and Noel, to complete their immediate family.

Virginia’s journey with the Lord began in high school when she became involved with her hometown church.  The members of the congregation showed her how to be the hands and feet of Jesus on earth and inspired her to delve more deeply into her faith.  It was at a weekend retreat, A Walk to Emmaus, that she gave her life over to Christ and was truly changed by the Holy Spirit.  She has shared her faith with students in the public school for years,  but is really looking forward to being able to incorporate biblical teachings and to talk more freely about it at ACA. She looks forward to invigorating discussions about what has been read and to dive into how to write meaningfully, while getting to know her students on a spiritual level.
