I was born and raised in Seattle, WA.  I was blessed to be raised in a strong Christian home with parents who sought to instruct me in the ways of the Lord.  I grew up attending Sunday School and going through the AWANA program and was involved in many other areas of church service from playing piano and directing choirs to teaching Sunday School classes to youth ministry.  I was saved at the age of 5 and baptized at age 6.  Some of my favorite memories from childhood are going to my church summer camp every year.

I attended a Christian school through 4th grade and then transferred to public school where I excelled in music and history classes.  It was in high school that I was encouraged by my band director to become a band director as well.  After high school I attended Western Baptist College (now Corban University) in Salem, OR majoring in music education.  I taught at Portland Christian School in Portland, OR for 4 years and then moved back to Seattle in 2002 where I met my wife, Kirstin, and were married in 2005.

We moved to Las Vegas in 2006 and taught for one year before moving to Anaheim, CA (home of Disneyland) where I taught band and piano for 13 years at Servite High School.  It was also during this time that I obtained my Master’s Degree in Instrumental Conducting from the American Band College.  I also worked as the Pep Band Director for California Baptist University since 2017.

During the upheavals in 2020 my wife and I felt called by the Lord to leave California.  God led us to ACA and I am excited to be continuing in Christian education working with young men and women and training them in service for the Lord using musical gifts and talents.

In my free time I love to listen to and write music, play piano and trumpet, study history, and play vintage computer games.  My wife and I have one daughter and we love to travel, camp, go to Disney theme parks, and play games with family and friends.
