Legacy Gala

The Legacy Gala is ACA's annual invitation to the association and the community to see the great school ACA is and offer ways for the community to support the school. This event is rooted in Psalm 78:4 as we honor the school's rich and storied history and celebrate what's possible in our future!

We invite you to see how God is making a difference in the lives of our students, and how YOU can be a part of this vision. It is a fun-filled night celebrating the ways ACA shines their light so others may see our good works and give God the glory. Join us for a meal, dessert, program, and auction. We'll also honor special guests who have made a profound impact at ACA.

The 2024 Legacy Gala

The 2024 Legacy Gala will be held Saturday, October 5, at the FFA Enrichment Center in Ankeny. Doors will open at 5:30 and the evening will wrap up by 9:30.

This year's gala will support building improvements to benefit our teachers. More specific details and plans will be shared closer to the event!

You can expect a fun night celebrating ACA! There will be a ticket drop/silent auction, a meal, dessert by Baked by Mary (a small business run by an ACA alumna), an opportunity to recognize three families who have made a huge impact on ACA, a short program, and an opportunity to support this year's project. The doors will open at 5:30 and the evening will end around 9:00-9:30.

If you have a dietary restriction, please let us know and we will ensure there is a wonderful meal for you that evening that meets your dietary needs. The attire is"Ankeny Formal!" You'll see everying thing from suits and formal gowns to cocktail dresses and sports coats. Please wear what makes you feel comfortable.

How can I get involved?
We'd love to see you at the event! If you aren't able to join us, there are other ways to get involved, too:

  • Pray for the event - pray it would be a success and others would see the light of Jesus through our event.
  • Donate to the event - if you would like to support the building project that will benefit our teachers, you may give specifically to that project here.
  • Baskets - We are looking for baskets for our ticket drop. These would be valued around $100. This would be a great project for your small group or group of friends! Some ideas include a date night basket with gift cards for movies and dinner, an outdoor movie night with an outdoor projector and gift cards for pizza, gardening, baking, etc.
  • Volunteer - we are looking for volunteers leading up to the event and on Saturday morning to help make our event a success.

Recognizing our Honorees

This year, we are honored to recognize Lucienne and Don Buell with the Legacy Award, Jill and Matt Hugen with the Advocate Award, and Cindy and Dr. Steve Robinson with the Teacher Award. They will all be in attendance that evening.
