Athletics & Activities
At ACA, our students can participate in a variety of athletics and fine art extra-curricular programs. ACA is a part of the Bluegrass Conference.
Athletics
Our sports program includes Volleyball, Girls’ and Boys’ Cross Country, Girls’ and Boys’ Basketball, Girls’ and Boys’ Track, Softball, and Baseball. For sports not offered at ACA, we have a cooperative agreement with public schools. A Concussion Form and Physical Form must be completed prior to beginning practice.
Fine Arts
Students at ACA have the opportunity to participate in numerous fine arts activities, including art, drama, vocal music and instrumental music.
Instrumental Music
Beginning in 5th grade, students are encouraged to be a part of band. ACA provides band through the 12th grade with a middle school band and high school band. There are many opportunities for solo and ensemble festivals, honor bands, and the all-state music festival. In 2023, we had more than ___ students participate in an honor band.
Vocal Music
All of our students in grades Begindergarten through fourth grade take part in music class. They learn music fundamentals and hold two concerts each year. In fourth grade, the students learn to play the orff, a percussive rhythm instrument. This teaches them musical skills and concepts. Middle School and High School students also have the opportunity to be a part of the middle school or high school choir.
Theatre
The Theatre Department is a place where students can use their creative, God-given talents in many different ways. High school students produce a play every Fall and a musical every Spring giving the students many opportunities to engage in theatrical productions either onstage or backstage. Our younger students get a chance to participate in theatre each year in ACA’s production of “A Christmas Carol,” starring elementary and middle school students.
Art
All of our students in grades Begindergarten through fifth grade take part in art class. Middle school and high school students have the opportunity to take art as an elective. They participate in the annual Bluegrass Art festival. Students also have the opportunity to work with ACA staff on various projects, which include designing artwork for the annual fundraising gala or for the annual ACA holiday card.
