My name is Kalab Sidlinger, and I am a4th grade teacher at Ankeny Christian Academy. I also coach the JV boys basketball teams and assist in coaching the boys varsity basketball team. I graduated from Faith Baptist Bible College in 2022 and majored in Elementary Education while also playing on the basketball team for four years and received my coaching endorsement.
I was born and raised on a farm in LeClaire, Iowa until I moved to Ankeny for college. I was blessed to grow up in a Christian household in a large family of nine. I remember at the age of seven when I realized that I was a wicked sinner in need of salvation. My Sunday school teacher walked through the Romans Road after a Sunday school lesson and how Jesus died on a cross, but that He did not stay dead- He conquered death and rose from the grave three days later! I asked Jesus to come into my heart and save me from my sin, and I know that because of this I will spend eternity with Him in Heaven. I am so blessed to have an Almighty Savior who cares even for the lowliest of sinners!
I am also blessed to be married to my wife, Cassie, who was my high school sweetheart. We met in Junior High and grew up together. After doing long distance for the majority of my college experience, we decided to get married during the Christmas break of my junior year. I married the love of my life on December 18th, 2022. We also have a golden retriever named Simon that we absolutely love.
I had to privilege to student teach in the Spring of 2022 under Mr. Gascho. I learned a lot from him and really fell in love with the school during that time, which ultimately led me in joining the ACA family in the Fall of 2022, and I am so blessed to be a part of the ACA family!
