My name is Marcia Budnik and I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new Kindergarten teacher at Ankeny Christian Academy. My family and I made the trek down south to Ankeny, Iowa five years ago from the southern metro area in MN. We came from a christian school family and value christian education. ACA is where we landed with God’s leading and I have been involved in classroom volunteering and substitute teaching on and off ever since.
I attended a christian college in MN and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education K-6 with a minor in music. I had the opportunity to teach in public and private schools, teaching in a wide variety of areas such as: preschool, first and second grade, music, gifted/talented, and library. I love the variety God gave me to learn from!
My husband, Steve, and I have two children. John is a senior this year and attends Ballard High School in Huxley. He enjoys football, driving, and attends youth group at Cornerstone Church in Ames, where we also attend church. Our daughter, Lindsey, is a Freshman at ACA. She enjoys gymnastics, music, and attends youth group at First Family Church. We also have a four legged fur baby, that we all love dearly, named Andy. Andy is short for Andretti, my husband's favorite Nascar driver and Andy definitely has the speed of a Nascar driver! He is a 14lb. Cavachon.
I was blessed to be raised in a loving Christian home and grew up hearing the gospel message from an early age. It is not surprising that by the age of 5, I gave my life to Christ and it was my desire to live for Him. As a fifth grader, I followed in obedience and was baptized by my father. I have felt the Lord’s presence throughout my life, guiding, and leading me. What a blessing to be led here, to Ankeny Christian Academy!
