Introduction to Coach Crossman

Hello! My name is Morgan Crossman. I am a recent graduate from Faith Baptist Bible College in the Elementary Education program, and my husband Jon and I were married this past summer on June 10, 2023. The first aspect of myself I would like to share is that I am a child of God. I accepted Christ as my personal Savior when I was four years old. I grew up in a Christian home where my grandpa and dad are pastors, so I heard the Gospel from a very young age. I knew the basic Gospel story of how Jesus came to earth as a baby, died, was buried, and rose again to provide a way of redemption for mankind. In March 2005, my sister and I were playing with our toys, and my mom told us to clean up. For whatever reason, I really did not want to obey, and I repeatedly told her “no,” regardless of her kindly asking. My mom then told me to go to my room till she could talk with me, and I reluctantly obeyed. As I went up the steps, I realized that I could shut the door at the bottom, sit on the bottom step, and disobey her even more. So that is what I did; I sat there and was extremely proud I was getting away with my sin. While sitting there, I realized God was very displeased and disappointed with my sin. As a kid, and even now, I hate disappointing people, and God used that fear to help me realize my need for a Savior. So right there, I prayed and asked God to forgive me of my sins, and I accepted the free gift of salvation. I told my mom immediately after, and she asked me questions to make sure I truly understood the decision I was making. I was baptized by immersion a year later when I was five years old by my dad at the church he was pastoring at the time. I know that I am truly saved because I am trusting in Jesus every day, and He is constantly conforming me to become more like Himself. Praise God for His free gift of salvation!

In high school, I always knew I wanted to become a teacher, so by the time my senior year came, I decided to attend Faith Baptist Bible College right down the road from ACA. My passion and heart for teaching is to become a godly role model for the students I eventually teach. So many of my own elementary and secondary teachers impacted my life, and I have a desire to be that impact in the lives of my students. Throughout college I participated in many student-led groups and collegiate sports teams. I played volleyball all four years of college, and I absolutely love the sport! One of my many passions is playing volleyball as well as coaching younger players how to play and how to improve. I also played basketball for the first two years of college, and I enjoyed the relationships with my coaches and the girls on my team that I was able to have. I graduated May 2023 with my Elementary Education degree along with K-12 Athletic Coaching, 5-8 Middle School Language Arts, and 5-8 Social Studies endorsements.

My husband Jon and I recently got married June 10, 2023, and we are loving married life. I am originally from Minnesota, so following Minnesota sports are one of my favorite pastime. My favorite sports teams are the Minnesota Wild, the state hockey team, and the Minnesota Vikings, the state football team. Jon is from Canada, so we follow his hockey team, the Toronto Maple Leafs, as well. We enjoy playing sports together, playing pickleball during the summer, hanging out with family, and making memories every day. I am excited to, Lord willing, be a part of the ACA family this coming fall and to see what the Lord is going to do with my life over the next year!

Introduction to Coach Treybal

Cara Treybal grew up in Spirit Lake, Iowa where she had the opportunity to play multiple sports including volleyball, basketball, softball and golf. Throughout her time she developed the understanding of the importance of having compassionate and quality leaders as coaches. Beginning in high school, her future passion for coaching was planted. Cara has been a club volleyball coach in Ankeny for 6 years. Cara’s biggest  success during the club seasons has been watching the girls continue to develop new skills and gain confidence while succeeding against top-talent around the Midwest.

Cara and her husband Josh currently reside in Altoona with their two children Josie (4) and Charlie (1). The family currently attends New City Church in Ankeny. Cara’s biggest joy has been watching their daughter Josie begin understanding the Lord's promise to her. In their free time you’ll find the family exploring parks, golfing, or finding a live sporting event to attend!

After attending Iowa State University and graduating with a degree in finance Cara began working for Northwest Bank where she is now Bank president of the Ankeny Market.

Favorite verse: 1 Samuel 16:7 “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees, man looks on the outward appearance but the Lord looks on the heart.”
