Hello! My name is Melanie Frericks, and I am the school manager for Ankeny Christian Academy. Earlier in my life, I was employed as the vice president at Goodwill Industries of Central Iowa for many years, but when my children were still young, I felt God’s calling to stay home with them and support my husband’s company. In 2002, God called me to support my children’s school through teaching computer applications and later, helping out in the office. Working in the same school that my children attend has been an awesome experience!

I was raised in a Christian home, where my father was a Baptist pastor. I accepted Christ as my Savior when I was 5 years old. However, it wasn’t until I was older that I realized what it was like to make Christ the leader of my life and to let Him control my daily and lifelong decisions. Giving Him control has been an exciting, scary, rewarding experience!

My two children have attended Ankeny Christian Academy since 2001. Our son is a 2007 ACA graduate and our daughter graduated in 2011. ACA provided invaluable reinforcement of what my children were taught at home. We value the school’s support of the Christian morals and ethics with which we raised our family.

My life verse has been John 9:4: “As long as it is day, we must do the work of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.” However, since coming to Ankeny Christian Academy I have adopted the following verse: “Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold.” (Proverbs 8:10) God’s wisdom is worth every ounce of tuition payment, as well as the physical support that I can give the school.
