Junior High Curriculum (Grades 7-8)

The junior high curriculum includes core academic disciplines as well as exploratory courses.  Biblical integration remains a priority in all courses during this pivotal time in junior high students’ lives.  All courses are taught with an emphasis on Biblical worldview so students can continue to understand who they are in Christ.  The junior high curriculum is designed primarily with faith based curriculum resources.  

Junior high curriculum includes:

  • Weekly chapel and small groups
  • Bible (daily)
  • English
  • Literature
  • Math
  • Pre-Algebra
  • Science
  • History
  • Spanish
  • Computer
  • Vocal music
  • Band
  • Art
  • PE
  • Life Skills

Junior high students participate in the following enrichment activities:  class and school-wide service projects, speech meet, Math Olympics, science fair (Grade 8), student council, fine arts performances, seasonal class parties, spiritual retreats, Washington DC trip, Homecoming Spirit Week, and student planned class socials.  

Junior high students take the Iowa Assessments in the spring.
