My name is Jodie Carstenson and I feel blessed to be a third-grade teacher at ACA. My husband Paul and I have four children. My family has attended Grace Life Church of Ankeny for over 12 years. We are small group leaders and praise God for a wonderful church family,
I began my career teaching kindergarten for West Des Moines Public Schools. I then homeschooled our children for 10 years. We attended Raising Arrows Co-op which meets at First Family Church. During our time there, I helped with preschool and then taught Elementary Art. As my children were getting older, I was feeling led to a more structured academic environment. When I saw ACA was hiring, I applied and trusted the Lord’s leading throughout the whole process. My children and I are thankful to be a part of the ACA family!
I accepted Christ as my Savior under the leadership of Pastor John Colyer. I praise God he lifted the scales from my eyes to see and understand the truths of His Word. I find joy in witnessing God moments in my life and praise Him for all the blessings in my life. Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”
My favorite thing about teaching at ACA is being able to teach the children academically and spiritually. What a blessing to be able to pray each day and grow in the truths of God’s Word together!
