Mrs. Dawn Deierling
I am excited to teach first grade at ACA ! I taught K-2 in Des Moines for 10 years until I decided to stay home with my daughter. When my kids started school, I subbed in the Ankeny School District and taught a year of Pre-K at a christian preschool. I subbed at ACA and felt led to come back to the classroom full time.
I attended UNI where I earned a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education with a reading endorsement. While I was at UNI, I was invited to a college campus group called Campus Bible Fellowship. After an outing with the group, the leaders played a movie that shared the gospel. I had been searching before this and after watching the movie and hearing the gospel laid out, I accepted Jesus as my Savior. I continued to grow in college and was involved in Bible studies with other college students. I am currently helping out in the children’s ministry at our church. I also enjoy meeting with our small group every week.
I have two children that attend ACA and I feel blessed to be a part of the school as a teacher and a parent.
