Hello, my name is Suzanne Sears. God has allowed me the privilege of serving Him through teaching second, third and fourth grade for over twenty-five years in Christian schools in Illinois, Indiana and Iowa. I have a great passion and love for coming alongside Christian families in assisting them in educating their child academically, socially, mentally, and spiritually. My teaching experience at various Christian schools has helped me to develop this two-fold approach to education:
- Teaching students’ minds through excellent, academic instruction to motivate them to become lifelong learners.
- Reaching students’ hearts by conveying God’s love and the unchangeable but life-changing truth of the Bible to motivate them to become servants of Christ.
While God has led me to different states and given me the opportunities to travel abroad, my journey with Him started in growing up as a farm girl outside of Grinnell, Iowa. I have been so blessed with godly, Christian parents who enabled me to attend a Bible-believing church and learn about Christ from a very early age. After a church Bible study and prayer meeting that talked about end time events when I was five, I knew I would be “left behind” if Jesus came back. My mom went through the Romans Road with me. I believed that Jesus died for my sins, then asked Him to forgive me and be my Savior. As a junior higher being discipled through youth group, I realized that I needed to have a more growing, personal relationship with Christ and follow Him in every aspect of my life.
After I graduated from Faith Baptist Bible College in 1991, I felt called to teach in Christian schools even though my entire kindergarten through high school experience was in the public realm. What a joyful journey it has been!
God’s amazing grace keeps showing me daily what a great sinner I am, but what a beautiful, great Savior He is. I love sharing Christ in outreach ministry at Community Baptist Church here in Ankeny. Sharing the good news in trips to Mexico and England during some of my summers has been stretching and special. Enjoying different coffee cafes and finding treasures at thrift/consignment shops, flea markets, or antique malls is often an avenue I have in discipleship of younger Christian ladies. It has been such a blessing and blast to be near my family after moving back to Iowa ten years ago, allowing me to attend a variety of activities and events. My prayer is that I would be sensitive to the Holy Spirit to always be ready for any adventure anywhere in ministering to anyone He wants me to serve.
