My name is Sara and I am beyond blessed to be the receptionist here at ACA!
I grew up unchurched, unsaved, and making a mess of my life for 27 years. I believed that I had the power to change myself and fix my own problems. It took the Lord really breaking my will and my spirit for me to cry out to Him and place my trust and full assurance in the work His son did on the cross for me.
Luke 7:47, “Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven – for she loved much. But he who is forgiven little, loves little.”
As the Lord often does, He brought beauty from my ashes. Having grown up abandoned by my earthly father, God gave me a heart for children, and specifically for the fatherless. God recently called my husband and I to reach beyond ordinary, step out of our comfort zones, and graft into our family two little girls from China. Seeing our girls physically adopted into our family is a daily reminder of how God has spiritually adopted me into His family and how great his love is for his children.
James 1:27, “Religion that is pure and undefiled before the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.”
I am thankful every day for my salvation and for the burdens God has placed on my heart. It is my desire with each day that passes to be molded more and more into the image of Jesus Christ. I pray every day that the Lord would fill my cup so that it’s overflowing and that everything that splashes out of me, would be from Him.
1 Peter 1:8, “Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory.”
