Mrs. Cindy Herman
My name is Cindy Herman, and I am very excited to be returning to ACA to teach sixth and seventh grade history. Our family lived in Johnston from 2006 through 2009. During that time my children attended ACA and for two of those years, I taught at ACA. I was greatly blessed to be a part of the school. I look forward to rekindling friendships and meeting the new students and staff. I am most certain that God is doing something great here at ACA. I have been married for 28 years. I have seven children and two grandchildren. Since leaving ACA, I have worked as the home school program facilitator in Ottumwa and in residential care supporting individuals with intellectual disability.
I grew up in a wonderful Christ-centered home. My grandmother discipled me from an early age. I spent a great deal of my childhood with her, and one of my earliest memories is falling asleep to the sound of her voice praying. I always knew God was real, but as a young adult I began to question. I went through many years of searching and studying different religions. Finally, I just began to ask God for truth. On March 14, 1983, I said, “God if you are real, I believe.” At that point my life changed forever. I knew that everything I had been taught as a child was true. My life with Christ is an amazing adventure. He is my dearest friend, and I know that He is guiding my through this world. There is a wonderful passage in the message Bible found in Romans 8:15: “This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike ‘What’s next Papa?’ ” So I am excited to be back at ACA and am expectantly looking forward to see what amazing things God will do.
