Library/Literacy Lab

Mrs. Deborah Rose

I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with students in our library and literacy lab at Ankeny Christian Academy.  I do believe I have the best job ever!  What a blessing it is to spend my days sharing the joy of reading with students.

Let me take a few moments to introduce myself.

I am first and most importantly a child of God.  I understood and accepted His death on the cross as a sacrifice for my sin when I was a young girl.  God has proven Himself time and time again faithful in my life.  It is my delight to know Him and to be able to share Him with others.

I am married to my best friend, Doug, and God has given us two children, Benjamin and Joseph, who attend ACA.  I am so thrilled that they have the opportunity to receive a Christian education.  I want to see them delight in knowing God, understanding His Word, and following His plan for their lives.

From a young age I have known my ministry would be with children.  My first babysitting job was at the age of ten, and I haven’t stopped working with children in some way since then.  I graduated from Faith Baptist Bible College in 2002 and I was thrilled to begin immediately teaching 4th grade at a Christian school.  I took some years off of teaching when my boys were small, but was thrilled to begin teaching again at ACA when they started Kindergarten.

I spend my personal time enjoying my family, reading, serving in children’s ministries in my church, caring for my home, sometimes running, and collecting classic children’s literature.  I love books, tea, flowers, and family photos.

I love teaching literacy at Ankeny Christian Academy.  There is no better way to learn about life than through the art of a beautiful story & I get to do that every day!

Thank you for giving me the privilege of knowing you and being a part of your students’ lives at Ankeny Christian Academy.
