I had the privilege of growing up in a Christian home in Cedar Falls, Iowa. On March 13, 1995, my family hosted a five day club for the neighborhood. I remember the story that the missionary told bothering me, and I went back to my room and asked my mom about what was being taught. That day I realized my need for Christ and repented, putting my faith in Jesus Christ my Savior.
God used many people to influence me for Him during high school, including individuals who encouraged me to attend Faith Baptist Bible College. I started at Faith in 2008 to pursue my elementary education degree. I graduated in the spring of 2012.
Throughout my career at Faith I was greatly impacted by Psalm 19:14, especially in thinking about how my life should be one that is acceptable in God’s sight first and foremost. “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.”
I am excited to be working at Ankeny Christian Academy this year. I hope my life is a constant example and encouragement to the students and other teachers!
