History and Life Skills

Mr. Brad Ewest

My name is Brad Ewest, and I am pleased to be part of the Ankeny Christian Academy team. Although my main passion and expertise is in history and government, I also have experience in my current ACA position — teaching health and life skills classes and providing resource help to students.

I was very fortunate to grow up in a Christian home and experience the love of the Lord early in life. I was saved at the age of 12 and later recommitted my life to my Savior, being formally baptized in 1990.

My wife, Barb, and I have four children – Katie, Joel, Mark and Laura. They all love the Lord Jesus and are a real blessing to us. We are very fortunate to have three of our children live in central Iowa, and I really enjoying my grandpa status with nearby grandchildren. Our oldest daughter and son-in-law live in Mason City; so I am indeed blessed!

Some of my favorite activities include spending time with family, leading an adult Bible study, woodworking, coaching, running in 5Ks and half-marathon events, and trying to keep up with the grandchildren.

One of my favorite and most meaningful Bible verses is: “In whatever you do, do it with your whole heart as working for the Lord, not men.” Colossians 3:23.
