I am so excited to be a part of Ankeny Christian Academy! My husband and I moved to Ankeny with our family in May of 2020. We have one daughter at home and four grown sons; we also recently became grandparents! Previous to moving to Ankeny we lived in northern Iowa where I taught for 26 years and in Waterloo where I taught for three years. God first led us to ACA for our daughter Hannah’s education. During a morning devotion time, I began to feel called to teach at ACA. God’s plan ended up leading me to a year of subbing. I absolutely loved subbing, but I began to realize that the Lord was calling me to apply for a full time teaching position. I am overjoyed to follow that call and to be teaching second grade. It is such a blessing to teach in a Christian school.
I was raised in a Christian home and attended First Baptist Church in Waterloo. Through my parent’s example, I was active in many church activities. I accepted Jesus as my Savior at a young age and declared my faith through baptism. I pray that my students will see through my example a lifelong pursuit of both learning and growing with Jesus. I am looking forward to all that God has planned within my classroom and at ACA!
