My name is Stephanie Marshall, and I am very excited to begin this journey with you! I graduated with my elementary education degree from Faith Baptist Bible College in May 2015. While at Faith, I was able to play volleyball for four years, make life-long friends, meet my husband, and grow in my walk with God. After graduating, I had a wonderful opportunity to nanny for two children, and I am currently in my fourth summer at Johnston’s summer program with a group of second graders. I love teaching my second graders as much as I love to play volleyball, spend time with family and friends, and engage in church ministries. My husband and I recently became members of Walnut Creek Church where we have found a loving community group and many ministries that we can be involved in.
I grew up in a loving Christian home and attended a Christian school. I accepted Christ into my heart at the age of five and had the pleasure of being baptized by my dad at the age of eight. I spent a week each summer at Bible camp and made many decisions about following God. I felt as if I was on a spiritual roller coaster up until my college years. During my freshman year at Faith, God led me to many godly friends and encouraging professors whom He used to help me find my own faith outside of my parent’s household and a personal relationship with Christ. God has taught me that failure is going to happen but to lean on Him for strength each day. Now I live in peace knowing that my God is a merciful and gracious God!
At a young age, God gave me a love and a passion to work with children. I began babysitting, which led to an after school program which led to swimming lessons and so on. Senior year of high school was ending, and I was searching for what I wanted to be my major. It wasn’t until my mom redirected my focus to what GOD wanted to be my major. I reflected on my previous employments and realized I loved teaching children. I loved seeing their excitement when the light bulb turned on. I loved being able to fill their minds with new knowledge or knew insight of previous knowledge. This past year, God put the specific desire of being a part of Christian education on my heart. I love being able to share truth that God has or is still teaching me to my classroom.
Thank you for allowing me to come alongside you and grow your children in God’s love while teaching them new facts and concepts. I am excited for what this school year has in store for our class. I hope to help the second grade children in my class excel, and I’m looking forward to getting to know them and you more!
