Mrs. Leslie Deo
I never dreamed I would be working in the preschool department! I have always had a burden for high school students and have taught that class in our church for over 20 years, hoping to impact hearts, decisions and lives during that important time of life with the Truth of God’s Word. When our youngest child began school at ACA in 2004 in developmental kindergarten it became necessary for me to work part-time to help with tuition payments. The Lord opened the door for me to become a preschool assistant at ACA and I love it!!!! Our sweet little ones are such a delight and every day is different. It is a joy to help them learn and grow over the course of the year. Now I am blessed to work at both ends of the Christian education spectrum, in the preschool at ACA and teaching the high school class at church.
I was very blessed to be raised in a solid, stable Christian home by loving parents who were married for over 50 years. I received Christ as my Savior growing up, but I am one of those people who doesn’t have a specific date or memorable story of my salvation. After Bob & I were married, our faith really took root and grew as we became involved in a great little church in Missouri Valley, Iowa. We soaked up solid, Biblical teaching there for five years in church, Sunday school and Bible studies. We moved to Maxwell and have continued serving and growing in the Lord together in many areas of ministry.
Our eldest child, Zach, began kindergarten at ACA in 1995. He graduated from ACA in 2007. Our daughter, Elizabeth, graduated in 2015 and our son, Matthew, graduated in 2018. We have loved being a part of Ankeny Christian Academy all these years. God has been so faithful to ACA. As we look back over many years we see His hand. Our children have benefited greatly from this environment, where their teachers pray for them, love them and teach them the truth about God’s Word and His world on a daily basis. Our home, church and their classrooms share common values, morals, beliefs and faith in God. This is one of the true blessings of sending our children to a Christian school. Christian education requires many sacrifices, especially when you live 25 miles from the school. Paying tuition is viewed as an investment in the future in our home. As the mother of graduates from ACA, I can tell you, our investment is paying big dividends today. We are so thankful the Lord led us to invest in Christian education in 1995.
