My name is Dave Gascho. This is my first year of teaching at ACA (3rd grade), and my 16th year of teaching at a Christian schooI. My wife and I recently moved from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where I spent the last 15 years teaching at Isaac Newton Christian Academy. There I taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades, and resource room which included teaching junior high algebra.
I earned my BA in elementary education from Mount Mercy College (now University) in Cedar Rapids, with endorsements in reading and language. I also have been teaching Drivers Ed for the past three summers and plan to continue doing that in the Ankeny area.
My wife, Mindi, and I celebrated our 35th year of marriage October 4, 2015. We are the proud parents of daughter, Morgan, and son, Ethan. Morgan lives in Sioux City, where she works for the House of Prayer. Ethan is studying accounting and finance as a junior at Drake University in Des Moines. We are truly blessed to have a son and daughter that are following the Lord’s leading in their lives!
I asked Jesus to be my Lord and Savior over 24 years ago. I am continually seeking His will for my life. The following verses give me great assurance of my salvation – 1 John 5:11-13, “And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son, has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you, so that you may know that you have eternal life.” I desire that every ACA student will see a reflection of Christ in me, and that they will develop a lasting relationship with Jesus as their Lord and Savior. I feel so blessed to be a part of the ACA team!
