Mr. Ethan Woodward
Hello! My name is Ethan Woodward. I am super excited to be teaching at Ankeny Christian Academy. Prior to ACA, I worked in Des Moines Public Schools for 8 years. I taught 4th grade for seven years, and I was a K-3 Interventionist for one year.
I earned my BA in Elementary Education from Iowa State University in Ames, with an endorsement in social studies. Then I attended Morningside College where I received my reading endorsement. Next, I received my Master’s degree from Drake University in Urban Education and Leadership with an endorsement in gifted and talented.
My wife, Sarah, and I are the proud parents of two beautiful girls, Piper and Brooklyn. Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
I was born and raised in a Christian home, and we went to Church every Sunday and Wednesday. I personally made the choice to accept Christ into my life when I was 10 years old. Romans 3:23-24 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” Throughout my walk and growing maturity in Christ, I have stumbled, but God’s unwavering love and faithfulness have proven stronger than anything that life has to offer. Psalms 91:4 “He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and fortress.” I desire more than ever to serve God in all aspects of my life.
