I am excited that God has brought me to Ankeny Christian and the Des Moines area. My husband and I have been in ministry many years as he has served in music, camps, youth, children’s ministry and assorted other responsibilities. Yes! He has many gifts. We have lived in the Carolinas, Illinois and traveled the country in evangelism. We have four adult children of whom I’m very proud (just ask me!) and four adorable grandchildren (I’ll gladly show you my pictures!) Now God has fulfilled my desire to live near my granddaughters. We are next door neighbors!
I grew up on a Midwest farm with godly parents. I accepted Jesus as a six year old and grew in my faith in a strong church, an active youth group and a Christian school. I’m thankful for a strong foundation that I needed later as I faced my husband’s two cancer battles and other family trials. I learned that because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed. His mercies never fail. Great is His faithfulness! (Lamentations 3:22-23)
I truly enjoy early learners. I have taught full-day K3 and K4 classes and love seeing the students play, explore and learn. Their joy of experiencing new things is contagious. I’m convinced children can have fun and learn at the same time. My classroom is full of songs, stories, learning activities and the joy of Jesus. It’s rewarding to introduce little ones to Jesus and to Biblical truth while also encouraging parents as they raise their families.
